The Tampa Bay Rays are the last remaining team in Major League Baseball that is still undefeated.

The team has won each of its first six games and is leading the American League East by two games over the New York Yankees.

One player in particular is off to quite a hot start himself.

Shortstop Wander Franco has been swinging a hot bat as of late.

Over his first six games of the season, he is hitting for a .417 average with two home runs, three doubles, seven RBI, two stolen bases, and an OPS of 1.273.

On Twitter, MLB Network posted a graphic featuring Franco’s stats through the first six games.

This has to be an encouraging sign for the Rays.

Last season, Tampa Bay barely reached the postseason, winning 86 games and capturing the third American League Wild Card spot.

They were ultimately eliminated by the Cleveland Guardians.

But their start to the 2023 season is an encouraging sign.

Franco too has been hitting quite well.

He, Randy Arozarena, Yandy Diaz, Isaac Paredes, and Jose Siri have helped form a solid lineup.

The pitching has also been quite good for the Rays.

But Franco has been leading the way and is off to a hot start as the Rays continue to dominate the rest of the baseball world.

The team just completed a three-game sweep over the Washington Nationals, and Franco’s hot bat was on full display.

If Franco can stay hot, then the Rays will be in good shape as they battle for their third AL East title in four years.
