The New England Patriots will reportedly weigh all their options at the quarterback position next season.
Mac Jones is no longer a lock to be QB1 by the start of the campaign, with HC Bill Belichick letting it be known that everybody will get a chance to play.
Furthermore, recent reports state that the Patriots have actively shopped Jones for months now.
And even though there haven’t been any takers just yet, things could change after the draft.
The Patriots have been tied to Lamar Jackson for the past couple of weeks, and there’s an obvious need for an upgrade at QB.
But maybe, just maybe, the answer to their prayers has always been right in front of them, as backup QB Bailey Zappe stands alone with one impressive record.
According to NFL on CBS, Zappe is currently the only active quarterback with multiple wins and zero career losses (postseason included).

To be fair, though, Zappe has only gone 2-0 as a starter, beating the Cleveland Browns and Detroit Lions.
Zappe completed 41 of 55 passes (74.5%) for 497 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception in those two wins, and some fans even wanted him to start ahead of the then-injured Jones.
He even took over for Jones after a dismal performance, yet Belichick turned right back to his starter the next week.
Zappe isn’t the flashiest prospect nor the most talented guy you’ll see out there, and this record definitely lacks some context.
But then again, there’s no reason to believe he can’t outplay Jones for the starting job, especially with all those doubts about him as the future of the franchise looming around.
