It’s been weeks since Aaron Rodgers let it be known that he intends to play for the New York Jets next season.
The controversial NFL superstar spent plenty of time thinking about that decision, although most NFL analysts and fans had come to that conclusion weeks earlier.
However, there still have been no updates regarding the status of this transaction, even though everybody around the league is certain that it’s a lock to happen.
Recently, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN stated that most of the deal had been done for a while now, but there are still some concessions to be made from the Jets’ side.
“I was told from a source involved that a lot of this deal does remain done and has been for a while… As of now, no movement yet. Should heat up closer to the draft.”@JFowlerESPN with the latest on when Aaron Rodgers could be traded to the Jetspic.twitter.com/gk4Z75kj6L

Still, he doesn’t think anything will happen until the days before the upcoming NFL Draft, so Jets and Green Bay Packers fans can finally stop repeatedly scrolling and refreshing their Twitter timelines.
The Jets made it clear that they have no intention whatsoever of giving up the 13th overall pick in this year’s draft, but that doesn’t seem like a deal-breaker at this point.
Rodgers doesn’t want to stay in Green Bay anymore, and reports state that the Packers were actually looking forward to ending their relationship as well.
Jordan Love is expected to take the reins of the offense at Lambeau Field, while Zach Wilson’s future in the league seems uncertain.
As for the Jets, they’re now one of the strongest candidates to come out of the AFC, or at least they’ll be as soon as this halted trade finally gets going.
