New Orleans Pelicans president of basketball operations David Griffin said Thursday that Zion Williamson will remain out indefinitely while he continues to rehabilitate from his hamstring injury, as announced by the organization itself.
The Pelicans have two regular season games left and it doesn’t seem likely that Zion will be available to play the play-in tournament either.
“After further evolution, it has been determined that Zion Williamson will continue his rehabilitation and conditioning regimen,” Griffin stated. “We will continue to monitor her progress and updates will be provided as warranted.”
Williamson has struggled with injuries throughout his professional career. He has played in just 114 of a possible 306 regular-season games with the Pelicans.
This update puts a stop to a report shared earlier in the week that seemed to indicate that Zion was pushing to return to action before the end of the regular season.
