The Dallas Cowboys have made some big moves this offseason.

Usually, they are quiet during the offseason and only re-sign their players.

But Dallas felt they needed to make substantial improvements to their roster.

One spot that was a glaring need for Dallas was wide receiver.

That is why they made a trade with the Houston Texans to acquire an impact player.

Wide receiver Brandin Cooks joins the Cowboys after playing the last three seasons with the Texans.

The Cowboys will be Cooks’ fifth team, and he has at least one 1,000-yard season at each of his previous stops.

One place where Cooks can help the Cowboys the most is in separation.

Mina Kimes said on her podcast, The Mina Kimes Show, that Dak Prescott had the highest tight window rate in the NFL.

A large part of the tight window throws was that only one Cowboys wide receiver could consistently get open.

Cooks should help solve that issue.

He should open up the offense and give Prescott another wide receiver other than CeeDee Lamb that he can consistently throw to.

Dallas is one of the most improved teams in the NFL this offseason.

They have closed the gap on the Philadelphia Eagles and should be serious threats in the NFC.

If they can stay healthy this may be the best team the Cowboys will enter the season with over the last decade.

Plus, they still have an entire NFL draft to try and add some more talent.

The Cowboys’ front office was aggressive this offseason and it will bode well for them in 2023.
