The Washington Commanders have been one of the most discussed teams during the 2023 NFL offseason, but it’s not for their on-field play.
Dan Snyder listed the team for sale amid controversy and has now accepted an offer.
After this sale was announced, Mina Kimes gave her opinion on Snyder’s ownership as a whole, calling it “shameful.”

“We’re not talking about the turning of a page here,” said Kimes, but rather, “the closing of a book that will go down as one of the most shameful records of any owner in any professional sport.”
For several years, the internal structure of the Commanders was tainted and toxic, and many have targeted Snyder as the largest contributor to that.
While Kimes appears to be relieved that the Commanders are freed from Snyder’s leadership, she believes that more steps should be taken.
“Even if the sale does go through,” said Kimes, “I do think it is imperative that the NFL finishes their investigation.”
Kimes has not been shy with her opinions of how the Commanders’ situation has been handled.
What’s next for Snyder and this investigation remains to be seen.
For now, what has been reported is that the Commanders have been sold.
This transaction is said to be for $6 billion, to a group led by Josh Harris, who already owns the Philadelphia 76ers and New Jersey Devils.
Snyder’s reign as the Commanders owner has come to an end.
What will this mean for the future of the organization, given the current landscape of their roster?
