For years, the National Football League has talked about putting player safety first.
That couldn’t be further from the truth, and outside of some rule changes and new helmets for OTAs, the league has done little to nothing to keep their guys safe.
If that was the case, then there’s no way they could’ve allowed State Farm Stadium to have a field in such terrible conditions for the biggest game of the season.

Both teams had several bloopers and slips due to the field’s poor condition, as it was evident that it wasn’t ready to hold an NFL game, let alone the Super Bowl.
This isn’t the first time that the league has drawn heavy criticism for the surface and the gridiron, yet it’s unlikely that they will do anything to solve these issues.
For years, players have urged the NFL and teams to ban turf, as it could lead to multiple season-ending injuries and major ailments.
The league, however, claims its research hasn’t found any sort of connection between turf and knee injuries, regardless of what the dozens of players, footage, and even the NFLPA have said year in and year out.
Fortunately, no one was injured throughout the Super Bowl, unlike what happened last year with Odell Beckham Jr.
But if the league is so focused on keeping the players safe as they claim to be, they should definitely be more careful with these kinds of things every week, especially when the Vince Lombardi trophy is on the line.
