Adam Thielen is no longer a part of the Minnesota Vikings.
The team had to come to this difficult decision for salary-cap purposes, continuing what they claim to be a ‘competitive rebuild.’
The #Vikings are releasing two-time Pro Bowl WR Adam Thielen today, per sources.

Thielen was born in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, where he also attended high school before playing at Minnesota State for four years.
Then, the Vikings signed him as an undrafted free agent, and the rest is history.
But football is a cruel business, and the Vikings needed to cut expenses, so there was no more room for the 32-years old, as you can tell by some of the responses to this news.

Thielen leaves the Vikings as one of the greatest wideouts ever, ranking among their leaders in receptions (534), receiving yards (6,682), and receiving touchdowns (55).
He was also a second-team All-Pro, a two-time Pro-Bowler, and holds the NFL record for the most consecutive games with 100+ receiving yards (8).
Thielen is entering the backend of his career, and he had already taken a backseat to rising star Justin Jefferson before being released.
But he could bring plenty of experience and some steady and reliable pass-catching hands to multiple teams looking to add depth to their receiving corps.
It wouldn’t be shocking to see him land with the New England Patriots, Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, or even New York Jets.
He would also be a solid fit with the Buffalo Bills, where he’d be reunited with former teammate Stefon Diggs.
Whatever the case, this shouldn’t be the end of the line for Thielen, although it will be a shame not to see him retire with his hometown team after all those years.
