The 2021 Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams could look a lot different next season.
They recently released star inside linebacker Bobby Wagner, and it is believed they will likely trade cornerback Jalen Ramsey, who has been a franchise cornerstone for the last several years.
The speculation has been that Ramsey will be traded so that the Rams can trim their salary, which was reportedly the reason they let go of Wagner, but the real reason for a Ramsey trade could be that he wants too much money on his next contract, according to NBC Sports’ Mike Florio.
Rams CB Jalen Ramsey is heading towards a trade not because his current contract is bad for the Rams, but because he’s likely angling for another new one. https://t.co/Xl8iTstPFM

Ramsey, 28, continues to be one of the best corners in the NFL, even though some feel his game slipped a bit during the 2022 season.
He still had 18 passes defended, four interceptions and four tackles for loss while making the Pro Bowl for the sixth straight year.
After winning it all a year ago, the Rams stumbled this season, winning just five games and missing the playoffs in what was one of the weakest title defenses anyone could remember seeing in any sport.
Injuries were a factor, as quarterback Matthew Stafford and star wide receiver Cooper Kupp, among others, missed significant stretches of the season.
Ramsey should have plenty of football left in him for whichever team trades for him, and if he gets extremely lucky, perhaps he will be sent to a squad that will be a Super Bowl contender in 2023.
But oftentimes, it seems like contract disputes that result in a player getting traded don’t turn out too well for that player.
