The Broncos Have Announced Their Full Coaching Staff

After a very disappointing 5-12 season that saw them miss the playoffs for the seventh straight season, the Denver Broncos made a big splash by hiring Sean Payton to be their new head coach.

Payton recently ended a long tenure at the helm of the New Orleans Saints, where he teamed with quarterback Drew Brees to make the team one of the NFL’s best on offense.

He has filled out his staff, and the Broncos have released their full coaching staff.

Joe Lombardi will be Payton’s offensive coordinator, and he is fresh off two seasons at the helm of the Los Angeles Chargers’ offense.

This may cause some concern for Broncos fans, as the Chargers’ offense had very little vertical action downfield, but then again, Denver quarterback Russell Wilson has a different skill set compared to Justin Herbert.

Vance Joseph will be returning to the Broncos to be their defensive coordinator after serving as their head coach in 2017 and 2018.

He has spent the last four seasons as the defensive coordinator for the Arizona Cardinals.

In the end, it’s on Wilson to regain the old form that was the norm for him during his 10 seasons with the Seattle Seahawks.

In 2022, he had career lows in completion percentage (60.5), passing touchdowns (16) and passer rating (84.4).

Not coincidentally, Denver ranked 19th in passing yards, 23rd in passing touchdowns and last in points scored, and they failed to reach the 20-point mark a whopping 11 times.

Many fans and observers couldn’t remember seeing an offense that was this bad.
