Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline came and went with teams making plenty of moves.
However, the biggest one for the Chicago Bears was their trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers for WR Chase Claypool.
Claypool, who was hyping himself as a top-five receiver this year, isn’t having top-tier production this season.
With that lack of production, it seems the Steelers wanted to trade him away.
While the Steelers had two teams who wanted Claypool, it was the Bears who got him for their 2023 second-round pick.

But now that the dust is settled, who won the Claypool trade on Tuesday?
Both The Bears And Steelers Are Winners In The Trade
With plenty of Monday morning quarterbacks saying Claypool isn’t worth a second-round pick, there’s evidence that he was worth it.
That evidence starts with the Green Bay Packers also offering the Steelers their second-round pick for Claypool.
With the Bears biggest rival willing to pay for Claypool, they simply offered the Steelers the same pick.
However, it was the Steelers belief that the Bears will finish behind the Packers that got them Claypool.
By getting the young receiver, the Bears keep a talented receiver away from Aaron Rodgers.
It also gives Justin Fields a receiver who can make amazing catches.

For the Steelers, it’s a win because Claypool’s value based on production for 2022 is low.
While Claypool has talent, he wasn’t showing it as much this season in the receiving yards and touchdowns department.
With the Bears getting a solid receiver and the Steelers a high value draft pick, both these teams come out as winners.
