Last season, the Baltimore Ravens had a severe lack of reliable and productive wide receivers.

But this upcoming season, the team is very hopeful that its passing offense will improve.

They added Odell Beckham Jr., the three-time Pro Bowler who apparently made a full recovery from the ACL tear he suffered in Super Bowl LVI as a member of the Los Angeles Rams.

The Ravens also took Zay Flowers, a wide receiver out of Boston College, with the No. 22 pick in this year’s draft, and appear to have high hopes for him.

Flowers was seen on video, via NFL Twitter, working on building chemistry with his new quarterback, Lamar Jackson.

Jackson was thought to have one foot out of the door after some lengthy and fruitless contract negotiations, but earlier this offseason, Baltimore relented, agreeing to give him a $260 million deal.

He picked Baltimore and the entire NFL when he won the regular-season MVP award in 2019, but has since seen his production dwindle and has also suffered a few injuries.

Perhaps having a healthy Beckham and a hungry Flowers by his side is just what he’ll need to get back on track in 2023.

Flowers, a native of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, had 1,077 yards and 12 touchdowns last season as a senior and earned third-team All-American honors.

In 2022, none of the Ravens’ wide receivers reached 500 receiving yards, a sign of futility that they should avoid again next season, and it seems very likely that they will.

With Beckham and Flowers making plays alongside Pro Bowl tight end Mark Andrews, maybe the team will make the playoffs again and get past the opening round.
