Last season, chaos was in the air for the Carolina Panthers, as they endured injuries, personnel changes, and the firing of head coach Matt Rhule.
They finished the season 7-10 and looked to have no real hope for the immediate future.
But a big trade with the Chicago Bears changed all that, as it brought them the No. 1 pick in April’s draft, allowing them to take University of Alabama quarterback Bryce Young.
Young has apparently now been promoted to the starting QB role, displacing veteran Andy Dalton, and wide receiver DJ Chark had some glowing things to say about the incoming rookie, per David Newton.

Along with CJ Stroud and Anthony Richardson, Young is part of a promising crop of QBs who are entering the NFL this coming season.
Young had a stellar tenure with the Crimson Tide, winning the Heisman Trophy in 2021 and putting up big numbers over the last two seasons.
Although he is listed at just 5-foot-10 and about 200 pounds, many feel his modest stature won’t be a factor thanks to his mobility, pocket presence and instinctual feel for the game.
Chark is one of several weapons at the skill positions Young will get to work with, and those weapons also include wideout Adam Thielen and Pro Bowl running back Miles Sanders.
Just about everyone is picking the New Orleans Saints to win the NFC South, but the Panthers could have a say in how the division turns out, especially if Young plays well right away.
