The Boston Red Sox are currently struggling offensively.
Starter Brayan Bello pitched a no-hitter into the eighth inning Thursday night against the Miami Marlins, but the bats missed him as the Red Sox were shutout by a final score of 2-0.
The loss cut them to 40-42 on the season and they remained in last place in the AL East.
In fact, bats are mired in a shocking depression.
The Red Sox have scored just 11 runs in their last seven games.
According to Alex Speier of the Boston Globe, it’s his worst offensive streak in seven games since 1981.
The Red Sox have scored 11 runs in their last 7 games, tied for the fewest in a 7-game span since 1981. They scored 4 runs while getting swept by the Marlins. creepy details of @byJulianMack: https://t.co/nrEmebeKfA via @BostonGlobe

This is certainly an area of concern for the Red Sox.
Their offense has tormented them in the last seven games.
They are currently 3-7 in their last 10 games and have lost five in a row.
Boston managed to score just four runs in their series against the Marlins as they were ultimately swept.
To make matters worse, Bello was trading for the Sox, as he gave them seven scoreless innings.
However, he took the bad luck of losing when the Red Sox bats went quiet against the Fish.
Boston has a lineup that features stars like Adam Duvall, Masataka Yoshida, Rafael Devers, Justin Turner and Alex Verdugo.
However, the lineup has been underperforming of late and is one of the many reasons the Red Sox are slipping.
Going 40-42 on the season, they will travel north of the border to take on the Toronto Blue Jays, who have won six of their last 10.
