The officiating in the NFL has come under fire recently, and one reason why is some questionable roughing-the-passer penalties that were made this season.
According to league rules, such penalties cannot be reviewed.
The Los Angeles Rams, however, are proposing a change to that stipulation.

Even if Commissioner Roger Goodell green-lights this change to the rules regarding such penalties, the Rams have bigger issues to deal with.
After winning the Super Bowl following the 2021 season, they stumbled out of the gates this season, winning just three of their first six games, then going on a six-game losing streak.
Los Angeles ultimately took home only five victories and missed the playoffs in one of the worst title defenses in recent memory.
The team dealt with key injuries all season long, as the offensive line, quarterback Matthew Stafford, and star wide receiver Cooper Kupp, among others, missed extended stretches of action.
Although it appeared for a moment that perhaps the team would remain mostly intact and give it another try in 2023, it is now clear that the Rams will look at least somewhat different next season.
They released star inside linebacker Bobby Wagner just days ago, and there is strong speculation that Pro Bowl cornerback Jalen Ramsey will be traded soon, possibly because he is asking for a contract extension they’re unable and unwilling to give him.
One has to think that although Los Angeles may well return to the playoffs, especially if one or two other NFC teams take a step back, they will most certainly not win another world championship any time soon.
