After months and months of speculation, the Green Bay Packers were finally able to part ways with superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers as part of a blockbuster trade with the New York Jets.
With Rodgers wanting out and wanting to play for the Jets during the 2023 NFL season, the four-time NFL MVP got his wish, which means the Packers will make a change at quarterback position for the first time in nearly two decades.
Come Week 1 of the 2023 campaign; the Packers will have a new quarterback under center, with Jordan Love finally getting his shot as the starter for Green Bay.
Although the Packers might be talented enough to make the playoffs in 2023, the team is preaching patience with their new starting quarterback, according to Dianna Russini of ESPN via NFL on ESPN.

Love has some big shoes to fill in the same way Rodgers did when he took over for Brett Favre, who was also traded to the Jets, ironically enough.
Unsurprisingly, the franchise will be going with the patient approach with Love, as the team expecting success right out of the gate is a recipe for disaster.
However, it’s not beyond the realm of possibility that Love has a better-than-expected season in his first year as a starter in Green Bay, as he’s had a few years to learn from a future Hall of Famer.
Only time will tell if Love can exceed expectations in 2023 and if the Packers can continue to be a playoff-caliber team in the NFC moving forward.
