The New York Jets’ quarterback woes continued in 2022.
After drafting Zach Wilson with the second overall pick in 2021, the franchise believed that they had their quarterback of the future.
Two years later, the Jets are going back to the drawing board at the position, which could be great news for a recently released veteran.
As Jeff Darlington of ESPN claims, this veteran may be the team’s key to a title.

Derek Carr met with the Jets this weekend, just days after his official release from the Las Vegas Raiders.
Carr has spent his entire NFL career with the Raiders but is now looking for a new home after a mutual release.
The Jets were the sixth-worst offense in the NFL in 2022, at least according to their points-per-game average.
While their defense thrived, the offense put up just 18.1 points per game.
Assuming that they sign him, Carr could be a valuable addition to this offense.
The Jets have several young players on offense, who have been waiting for someone to help unleash their true abilities.
Garrett Wilson, Elijah Moore, and Breece Hall are just three names that could benefit from a quarterback upgrade, and Carr could provide that for them.
Of course, Aaron Rodgers has also been linked to the Jets, but, as of this morning, he is still on the Green Bay Packers roster.
One way or another, it seems increasingly more likely that the Jets are out on Wilson, and they will look for veteran leadership moving forward.
With a new quarterback, the Jets might just be able to make a playoff run next season, especially if their defense continues to impress.
