After the first half of last night’s Super Bowl, it felt like the Philadelphia Eagles were in the driver’s seat, destined for victory.
However, the Kansas City Chiefs were able to rally, coming out of the locker room ready to fight, leading to their eventual win.
The Eagles gave up a ten-point halftime lead, which puts them into a statistical category that no team wants to be a part of.

They were just the second team in NFL history to lose the Super Bowl after they were up at least ten points after halftime.
Although they have an incredible defense, the Eagles simply could not stop Patrick Mahomes and the rest of the Chiefs offense.
Interestingly enough, Mahomes only needed 27 pass attempts to defeat the Eagles, completing 21 of them.
The Chiefs started the second half strong, as Isiah Pacheco was able to cap off their drive with a touchdown run.
This was the game for unlikely contributors on the Chiefs, players that were likely not a part of the Eagles’ game plan.
Although Travis Kelce was able to get a touchdown in the first quarter, Pacheco, Kadarius Toney, and Skyy Moore scored their ensuing touchdowns.
This second-half collapse was new territory for this Eagles team, given the fact that they dominated their opponents all season, including the playoffs.
Unfamiliar territory, along with being forced to throw the ball more than they’re used to were the main culprits for their eventual demise.
The Eagles should be back in a similar position in 2023, ready for another chance to hoist the Lombardi.
