Going into Week 10, the Philadelphia Eagles remain the only undefeated team in the NFL.

While their streak doesn’t seem likely to end soon, one could assume this gives them a late pick in next year’s NFL Draft.

However, the Eagles actually have an unfair advantage as they head into the 2023 NFL Draft.

So what gives them an unfair advantage over other teams heading into next year’s draft?

The Saints’ Record Gives The Eagles An Unfair Advantage In 2023 Draft

When Fox Sports put out a tweet showing the first ten picks, the 8-0 Eagles came in with the sixth pick.

However, the graphic they show lets fans know this sixth overall pick is coming from the New Orleans Saints.

The way the Eagles got this pick was from a deal they made before the NFL Draft this season.

In the deal, the Eagles got five draft picks while the Saints got three.

The three picks the Saints got in 2022 include two first-round picks (16th and 19th overall) and a sixth-round pick.

While all three of the picks the Saints got were for the 2022 draft, the Eagles picks were for 2022, 2023, and 2024.

The one pick they got for the 2023 draft is the first-round pick that’s putting the Eagles sixth in the 2023 draft order.

If the Saints continue to have a poor season, then the Eagles will have an unfair advantage.

However, if the Saints make some improvements, that pick might lose some value.

So the advantage the Eagles currently hold in the draft depends solely on the Saints.
