The Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens have a rich history with their divisional NFL rivalry.
A lot of this has to do with the tremendous coaching by both teams, Mike Tomlin (Steelers), and John Harbaugh (Ravens).
Teryl Austin, the defensive coordinator for the Steelers, recently commented on this storied rivalry.
Asked Teryl Austin if the Steelers-Ravens rivalry changes or has a different feel to it as more new, younger players replace the old guard.
TA: “Let me see. John’s there and Mike’s there. It’s not changing. The cities are still there. It’s not changing. It’s a great rivalry.”

Although players come and go, great rivalries are here to stay.
Especially when the respective teams are coached by NFL legends like Tomlin and Harbaugh.
A Brief History Of This Storied Rivalry
There have been 52 total games played between the Ravens and the Steelers.
Currently, the Steelers have the edge on the Ravens, with a 29-23 all-time record.
With the emergence of Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, they have been the better team overall throughout his time with the team, but the Steelers have come out on top in the majority of their most recent games.
The Steelers have four of the last five matchups, but only by an average winning margin of 3.25 points.
These games are historically close, and it appears that Sunday’s game should be an exciting one as well.
However, with Jackson out of this game, it will be up to backup quarterback Tyler Huntley to try and lead the Ravens to victory.
The Steelers will be starting their 2022 first-round pick, Kenny Pickett, who has only started in eight NFL games.
Pickett has yet to play against the Ravens, and he has a prime opportunity on Sunday to start his career against this division rival on a high note.
