The New York Jets will have to make a tough decision at quarterback this offseason.
It is clear they are not happy with their current QB options and are hoping for an upgrade.
New York was interested in acquiring Derek Carr before he signed with the New Orleans Saints.
So now it appears like the Jets have turned their focus to Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
The former four-time MVP might be on his way out of Green Bay, and the Jets could be a fit.
But, former NFL quarterback Ryan Leaf thinks getting Rodgers would be a mistake for the Jets.
“You are the New York #Jets. Do you think bringing in Aaron Rodgers would help you leap frog Buffalo, Cincy, Kansas City, even Jacksonville and Los Angeles.”

Leaf does not see the point in the Jets getting Rodgers, because he says that he would not put them over the top.
It remains likely that the Jets would be the fourth or fifth-best team in the AFC even with Rodgers.
Also, Rodgers is likely to only play one or two more seasons at most.
Leaf thinks that the best move for the Jets would be to acquire Lamar Jackson.
He is 26 years old, and a former league MVP.
While he will cost a lot of money, and two draft picks, this move makes a ton of sense for New York.
The Jets have been terrible at drafting quarterbacks.
So instead of trying to do that, they should just go out and get a known commodity in Jackson.
He could be the quarterback in New York for the next 10 years and help lead them to the playoffs consistently.
It is time for the Jets to take a big swing at the most important position.
