In 2022, the Las Vegas Raiders had a disappointing season, even after adding Davante Adams to their offense.

They finished the season with a 7-10 record and will roll into 2023 without Derek Carr, their former franchise quarterback.

Despite their woes last season, there were a few individual bright spots on the team.

One of these bright spots was running back Josh Jacobs.

Jacobs had an incredible season in 2022, which was a marked improvement from the 2021 campaign.

In 2021, Jacobs ran for 872 yards and nine touchdowns.

While this made him a serviceable running back option for the Raiders, he exploded in 2022.

Jacobs was the NFL’s leading rusher this season, an impressive feat in his fourth NFL season.

In total, he rushed for 1,653 yards and 12 touchdowns, a dominant performance.

What does this mean for Jacobs, and his role on the Raiders moving forward?

Jacobs played the 2022 season under his rookie deal.

He is now a free agent, but he could be given the franchise tag by the Raiders for the 2023 season.

If this happens, the Raiders would get Jacobs at a steep discount, especially considering the success that he was able to find this year.

Without Carr, however, Jacobs might be looking to move on from the team, unless they sign an upgraded quarterback.

The Raiders will need to make several moves to compete for the top of their division, which has been won by the Kansas City Chiefs for the past seven seasons.

Will Jacobs be a part of the Raiders organization moving forward?
