Paul George will miss the start of the playoffs

Paul George will not be able to be present at the start of the first round playoff series between the Clippers and Suns. This is at least what Shams Charania, a journalist from The Athleticwho affirms that the player is progressing positively in his knee injury but that despite this the Californians do not expect to have him from the beginning.

The forward suffered his ailment on March 21, and since then there has been speculation as to whether the season was over for him or not. The latest information suggested that, since he had not suffered structural damage to the ligaments of his joint, the franchise was considering the possible return of him, and despite this first setback, this seems to continue to be a real possibility. The point is, when we’re talking about a playoff series as complex as the one before them, any small delay can make it too late.

And it is that, even having finished as quarterfinals in the Western Conference, the Suns seem like one of the most dangerous teams if not the most in the face of this postseason. Despite the fact that physical problems have prevented Kevin Durant from playing regularly and finishing adapting to the Phoenix system, Monty Williams’ men still don’t know what it’s like to lose a game with him on the field, and the Clippers have the challenge before them of having to make them lose four in a maximum of seven nights. This, of course, is complicated without George, who with 23.8 points, 6.1 rebounds and 5.1 assists, has been key once again in his team’s season.

It is to be hoped that his situation will be updated little by little and that, once the tie starts, it will begin to be guessed if he will be able to be present at some point. Game 1 will take place in six days, kicking off a new attempt by this project to finally bring great success to the franchise.
