The Washington Commanders looked much better in the second half of last season, but they’re far from a perfect team.
The NFC East figures to be up for grabs for years to come, so they need to make the most of every single selection they have in the upcoming NFL Draft.
With that in mind, NFL insider Aaron Wilson reported that they’re set to meet Illinois standout RB Chase Brown, who posted a 4.43 time in the 40-yard dash.
Illinois @IlliniFootball running back Chase Brown (4.43, 40-inch upright, 10-7 broad jump, 25 bench reps) visits the #Commanders, per a league source. Second-team All-American, All-Big Ten pick rushed for 1,643 yards, 10 touchdowns, caught 27 passes for 240 yards, three scores

Brown is considered one of the finest RB prospects in this class.
He’s coming off an All-Big Ten season in which he was a Second-team All-American and rushed for a whopping 1,643 yards with ten touchdowns, adding 27 receptions for 240 yards and three more scores.
While not especially a solid pass-blocker, and he did raise some doubts about ball security with an increased workload, he’s still a gifted athlete who can stretch the field when given enough opportunities.
Brown improved in every single season he was in college, and the game just comes naturally to him.
He’s got a sky-high ceiling and has proven that he can put up big numbers when trusted with the football in his hands, and he figures to be a low-risk kind of prospect in the draft.
Competing for touches with Brian Robinson and Antonio Gibson might not be ideal for him early in his career, but he sure has enough upside to be worth a pick.
