The New England Patriots, while a historic organization that has seen a lot of success over the last several years, isn’t known for their offseason activity.
To the delight of many fans, the Patriots have made several roster moves thus far, and have even added a familiar coach to the coaching staff.
Bill O’Brien was added to the Patriots as their newest offensive coordinator.
O’Brien has spent several seasons with the Patriots in various roles within the organization.
This move was celebrated by one of the Patriots’ newest players, tight end Mike Gesicki.
Regarding O’Brien, Gesicki said, “it’s exciting to finally be able to play for him.”

O’Brien was the head coach at Penn State, which was said to be a catalyst for Gesicki’s decision to attend the university.
While Gesicki was initially scouted as a premier pass-catcher, he wasn’t always utilized in that role when he played for the Miami Dolphins.
Last season, he had just 32 receptions, 362 yards, and five touchdowns.
His 32 reception and yardage totals were the lowest since his rookie season.
Given his familiarity with O’Brien, Gesicki will look to be a massive part of the Patriots’ offense and get an opportunity to showcase his pass-catching abilities.
The Patriots have also added JuJu Smith-Schuster during the offseason.
