Much like fine wine, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, is only getting better with age.

Star wide receiver, Tyreek Hill, was traded to the Miami Dolphins in the offseason.

This caused much speculation about Mahomes and the state of the Chiefs in general.

Through 12 weeks, it looks like Mahomes and the Chiefs are doing just fine without Hill.

Mahomes is certainly out-producing his fellow quarterback counterparts.

In fact, through 12 weeks, he is a full 402 passing yards ahead of Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, who is in second place in total passing yards on the year.

AFC Playoff Contention

With a 9-2 record, the Chiefs are currently the one seed in the NFL playoffs.

They have a tough matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals this week, who stand with a record of 7-4.

In this AFC Championship rematch from just a year ago, the Chiefs have a chance to improve to 10-2 on the year.

Not only would a victory this week move the Chiefs closer to securing a playoff spot and their seventh straight division title, but it gives them that much more opportunity to hold on to the one seed in the AFC.

Mahomes is a big part of why the Chiefs have been, and continue to be a domineering force in the AFC.

The Chiefs have won seven straight division titles.

Until the other teams in their division can figure out a way to stop them, they look to continue their dominance for years to come, especially with Patrick Mahomes at the helm.

There’s a reason Mahomes is often referred to as ‘showtime.’

He certainly makes magic out on the field.
