Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs is a magician, and with Super Bowl LVII against the beckoning Philadelphia Eagles, he could be just hours away from his second Vince Lombardi Trophy in four seasons.
Philly head coach Nick Sirianni and his defensive coordinator, Jonathan Gannon, will have their hands full trying to find a way to make Mahomes uncomfortable and forcing him to play under pressure.
They will have to keep him corralled as much as possible, because when he manages to escape the pocket, he has been about as deadly as the poisonous snakes found in Arizona, the site of this year’s Super Bowl.

Mahomes is considered by plenty of people to be the best quarterback in the game, and he had himself an incredible regular season, putting up 5,250 passing yards and 41 touchdowns, both of which led the league.
It is there no wonder he was awarded the regular season MVP this year, the second time he has won the award.
At age 27, Mahomes has already built a rather impressive career resume, and although Tom Brady is the consensus greatest player ever, many feel Mahomes has a chance to equal or even surpass what he did someday.
Winning Sunday’s contest would go a long way towards attaining that type of super-lofty goal.
To do so, Mahomes will have to overcome a Philly defense that ranked first in yards allowed and boasts Pro Bowl linebacker Haason Reddick, who had 16.0 sacks in the regular season.
Perhaps the Eagles should watch some video of Super Bowl LV, when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers constantly harassed Mahomes, suffocated his airspace and forced him into completing just 26 of 49 passes and throwing zero touchdowns and two interceptions.
