Although Aaron Rodgers has become a polarizing figure in recent years, there’s no question that he’s been one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL for the past decade or so.

He may have left the Green Bay Packers on less than good terms, but now he’s going to have something of a clean slate with the New York Jets next season.

One of the most impressive things about Rodgers is how well he protects the ball and how rare it is for him to throw an interception.

In fact, as Packers analyst Eli Berkovits pointed out, he had an incredible touchdown-to-interception ratio over his past five seasons.

For his career, Rodgers has an interception rate of just 1.4 percent, which is rare for an elite quarterback like him.

However, after winning regular season MVP awards in 2020 and 2021, he showed signs of decline last season.

He went from 4,115 passing yards and 37 touchdown passes in 2021 to just 3,695 passing yards and 26 touchdowns last season, despite playing one more game than the previous season, while his accuracy dropped from 68.9 to 64.6 percent.

It’s hard to say definitively if that drop in production stemmed from the fact that he’s 39 or older because the Packers were offensively anemic in 2022.

Davante Adams had been traded last offseason, and only one of his receivers, Allen Lazard, who now joined Rodgers on the Jets, had more than 650 receiving yards.

Even if Packers fans were left with a bad taste in their mouths by Rodgers’ tenure on the team, he will still be one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, having brought them their most recent Super Bowl title in the 2010 season.
