Nick Wright Has A Strong Opinion About DeAndre Hopkins Visiting Patriots

Wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, a five-time Pro Bowler and one of the most productive receivers of the last several years, is a free agent after he was recently released by the Arizona Cardinals.

Not surprisingly, several teams are rumored to be interested in him, and even at age 31, he has the ability to change the fortunes of one lucky team.

He will reportedly visit the New England Patriots, and Fox Sports 1 personality Nick Wright feels that perhaps they aren’t the best destination for him.

Wright said that other teams interested in him should make a pitch centered around helping him win a Super Bowl for the first time.

In 10 NFL seasons, Hopkins has gone over 1,100 yards six times and 1,500 yards twice, and he was named to the All-Pro first team three straight times from 2017 to 2019.

Although he has appeared in the postseason four times, he did so on some Houston Texans teams that simply weren’t nearly good enough to contend for the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

Wright pointed out that while Hopkins hit 10,000 receiving yards by age 30, almost all the other wideouts to do so have at least gotten to the Super Bowl.

The Patriots will be hard-pressed to simply make the playoffs next season even with Hopkins, given the fact that quarterback Mac Jones isn’t close to an elite player and the amazing depth of talent across the AFC.

In 2022, they finished 8-9 and lost five of their last seven games after a promising 6-4 start had their fans perhaps expecting a playoff appearance.
