The Baltimore Ravens just announced that they have hired a new offensive coordinator.
Todd Monken was the offensive coordinator for the University of Georgia and was a big part of their last two national championships.
Monken has been a coach at the collegiate and professional levels for 33 seasons, spending the majority of his career at the collegiate level.
He spent some time with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Cleveland Browns before accepting the job with the Ravens.
After this hiring, many around the league have expressed their opinions on this hiring, which have been largely positive.
The Ravens have hired Todd Monken as offensive coordinator.
Monken’s Georgia offenses ranked second in efficiency each of the past two years, according to ESPN. He brings an Air Raid background but success with heavy personnel. Good fit.

Jonas Shaffer works for several Baltimore-based news organizations.
He is definitely on board with this hire, especially considering the level of success that he found at Georgia.
In the past two seasons, Georgia has been top-two in the country on offensive efficiency, something that the Ravens could certainly use to their advantage.
The Baltimore Ravens hired Todd Monken as their new offensive coordinator on Tuesday.
Monken, 57, helped guide Georgia to back-to-back national championships. His offense from him averaged 501.1 yards and 40.7 points per game last season.

Collegiate football is a completely different game than that of the NFL, and it is a tough transition for many.
However, if Monken can help the Ravens offense improve, particularly the passing attack, the team can certainly make a splash in the AFC.

That is if the Ravens continue to court Lamar Jackson.
As of right now, it appears that the Ravens are content with placing the franchise tag on Jackson, despite their year-long struggle with contract negotiations.

If Jackson remains on the team, Monken will have a former MVP winner on the roster, making it a bit easier to run the offensive scheme that he wants.
