Right before the end of the NFL trade deadline, many thought the Houston Texans were moving WR Brandin Cooks.
However, the team didn’t pull the trigger on a trade deal with their star receiver.
Now, with Cooks still with the team, NFL fans want to know if he will play against the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night.
An NFL insider has the scoop on this story, while dishing out some other details of the Texans’ failure to move Cooks.
Cooks’ Availability Still Up In The Air According To NFL Insider
Tom Pelissero reported on Good Morning Football that Cooks’ status for the Texans Thursday night game is still “up in the air.”
#Texans WR (still) Brandin Cooks’ status is up in the air for tonight’s game against the #eagles after multiple teams—including the #rams and #Cowboys — couldn’t pull off a trade before Tuesday’s deadline. @gmfb @nflnetwork pic.twitter.com/14ksgLqpAj

However, Pelissero also explains why Cooks wasn’t around all week with the Texans leading up to this game.
His explanation was the trade talks between the Texans and other NFL teams regarding the star receiver.
While the Texans have him as “questionable” with a wrist injury, Pelissero feels it’s the Texans trying to trade the receiver that might have him sitting out.
Pelissero then talks about how Cooks took to social media to sell about those trade talks.
So what did Cooks have to say that might be the real reason behind him possibly missing Thursday night’s game?
He Feels Texans Are Messing With His Career
Cooks pulled no punches in his tweet over his potential trade to another team.
Don’t take a man’s kindness for granted. Covered for the lies for too long those days are done. Crossed the line with playing with my career 🏹

With him saying the Texans “crossed the line with playing with (his) career,” it’s clear there’s bad blood in Houston.
The Texans trade attempts might now have unknown consequences with Cooks.
