The New York Jets haven’t taken a single snap with Aaron Rodgers on the team, but they are already one of the AFC’s teams to beat in 2023.

As is often the case with star-studded teams, they’ve been tied to just about every big name that’s been available in the league over the course of the offseason.

That’s why it’s not a surprise to see that they could be in the mix to sign veteran star Dalvin Cook, who was recently released by the Minnesota Vikings and has garnered a lot of interest across the league.

It should be noted, however, that NFL pundit Ian Rapoport believes the Jets won’t be the highest bidder for his services, citing that other teams could offer him more money as well.

Nonetheless, Rapoport and Pat McAfee compared the current situation of the Jets to what happened when Tom Brady left the New England Patriots to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, citing that many veterans would prefer a pay cut to try and have a chance to win. a Super Bowl.

Rapoport says the Jets’ title window is open and they don’t know how long it will last, so it makes sense that a number of veterans, like Cook, would pay a small tax, per se, and take less money if that’s what it takes. to win a championship.

Cook is a multi-time Pro Bowler and arguably still in his prime, but given how brutal the running back market has been of late, he has a tough decision to make.
