The Las Vegas Raiders have a pretty talented roster, but they fell short of expectations last season, winning just six games and missing the playoffs.
Now, with training camp for the 2023 campaign on the horizon, they could be facing a very troubling situation involving one of their best players.
Running back Josh Jacobs, who received the Raiders’ franchise tag earlier this offseason, may hold out once the regular season begins if he doesn’t get the long-term deal he wants, according to Tom Pelissero, via Dov Kleiman. .

Jacobs, who will begin his fifth NFL season in September, was a very solid running back in his first three years in the league.
But in 2022, he reached a higher level, amassing a league-high 1,653 rushing yards as well as 12 touchdowns, earning him a first-team All-Pro nomination and his second Pro Bowl selection.
With Jacobs and Davante Adams, who is arguably the best wide receiver in the game, the Raiders were expected to be Super Bowl contenders last season.
Instead, they parted ways with quarterback Derek Carr and replaced him with veteran Jimmy Garoppolo, a former San Francisco 49ers player.
Las Vegas blew several leads and lost many close games in 2022, leading some fans to call for head coach Josh McDaniels to be fired.
But McDaniels is still in command, and the Raiders look to bounce back and at least make the playoffs.
To earn a trip to the NFL’s second season, Jacobs will have to be fully on board and committed to the team.
