A new era appears to be starting for the Houston Texans.
They have a new head coach at DeMeco Ryans, who spent the last two seasons as the San Francisco 49ers’ defensive coordinator, as well as new offensive skill players in wide receiver Robert Woods and tight end Dalton Schultz.
Houston will also have a new quarterback via the second pick in next month’s NFL Draft that could very well be a legitimate franchise signal-caller for at least the next decade.
NFL insider Tom Pelissero reported that while the team is visiting with Bryce Young and CJ Stroud, the top two QB prospects in this year’s draft, they have also met with Will Levis and will also do so with Anthony Richardson.
Not only are the #Texans bringing in QBs Bryce Young and CJ Stroud for visits, they’ve already brought in Kentucky’s Will Levis for a visit and plan to bring in Florida’s Anthony Richardson, too. A thorough evaluation as they ponder the No. 2 pick.

Many feel Young is poised to be the first pick in the draft, which would make him a member of the Carolina Panthers, a team that suddenly looks fairly competitive, at least on paper.
That would allow the Texans to draft Stroud, who, unlike Young, has decent size, and like Young, has been a very accurate passer at Ohio State University.
Levis hasn’t gotten the rave reviews that Young and Stroud have enjoyed, but although he’s a bit interception-prone, he did throw for 2,406 yards and 19 touchdowns in 2022.
Richardson’s 2022 stats — 2,549 passing yards and 17 passing touchdowns — aren’t extremely impressive, but he reportedly impressed a number of teams during the interview process at the NFL Combine.
After losing three-time Pro Bowl QB Deshaun Watson to the Cleveland Browns last year, the Texans are hoping they find a worthy replacement for him in the draft right away.
