It took them longer than they would’ve wanted, but the New Orleans Saints finally got their guy.
Former Las Vegas Raiders QB Derek Carr has reportedly decided to sign with the Saints, as per Ian Rapoport and Mike Garofolo.
The top free agency QB off the board. Derek Carr to New Orleans — their top choice. https://t.co/2q5vXtFsOz

That was always meant to happen, as they had already reached an agreement on a trade with the Raiders before he decided not to waive his no-trade clause.
Carr reportedly had very positive meetings with the New York Jets and Carolina Panthers, and most insiders claimed that he was poised to play for Robert Saleh.
Now, in a somewhat shocking turn of events, the Fresno State product will take his talents to the Big Easy to play for Dennis Allen, who clearly never thought of Jameis Winston as a realistic option at QB.
Needless to say, this news raised plenty of comments on social media, with countless reactions to this news.

Better for him than NE, MIA and BUF for 6x per season.

Notably, this is just the first of what could be many interesting moves around the league in the next couple of days.
The New York Jets will most likely shift their focus to Aaron Rodgers, but they depend on him deciding that he actually wants to leave the Green Bay Packers.
If that’s not the case, then they might need to pursue different options, such as Ryan Tannehill, Baker Mayfield, or even Jimmy Garoppolo, as there aren’t that many veteran QBs available right now.
Sorry, Jets fans, it seems like you’ll have to wait a little longer before getting your guy.
