Right before the NFL trade deadline was over, the Jacksonville Jaguars made a move to get Calvin Ridley.
The former Atlanta Falcons star receiver is currently suspended for the 2022 season, making the trade interesting.
With all these factors, fans had plenty to say about the Jaguars getting a player they can’t use until 2023.
Ridley Trade Gives Plenty Of Great Takes On His New Team
While the move to get Ridley will improve the Jaguars passing offense next season, it gave fans plenty of ammo for jokes.
Most of these jokes were around the reason Ridley was suspended from the NFL, gambling on NFL games.
The first shot came from someone claiming the young receiver wanted to go to Las Vegas, the gambling capital of America.

Another Twitter user jokes how someone, who isn’t Ridley, placed a bet on his trade to the Jaguars.
One lucky bettor under the user name NotRidley18 will cash out $5,000 after placing a +10000 bet on Calvin Ridley’s next team to be the Jaguars seemingly less than 2 hours ago.

However, fans who are serious about football saw this trade as a steal.
The fact that Calvin Ridley was traded for less than Kadarius Toney is ridiculous.

While the trade is a steal, another user explains why the trade for Ridley is a steal for the Jaguars.
Jaguars aren’t just getting Calvin Ridley, it seems they are getting a very motivated Calvin Ridley. This is looking good! https://t.co/Lv790dVlRs

With the young receiver set to return in 2023, Jaguars fans are already excited for the 2023 season to watch him play.

Fans see how good Ridley is, and they know he’ll help Trevor Lawrence when 2023 comes.
With the Jaguars giving up two low-round draft picks, it’s a steal for someone with Ridley’s talent.
While 2022 might not be the best for Jacksonville, they have a bright 2023 season to look forward to, thanks to this trade.
