NFL Analyst Makes A Strong Statement About Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins have been busy lately, as they traded for veteran Pro Bowl cornerback Jalen Ramsey on Sunday.

The move should greatly fortify a Dolphins defense that finished just 26th in passing touchdowns allowed and 27th in passing yards allowed this past season.

Ramsey will team up with fellow Pro Bowl cornerback Xavien Howard to give Miami a mighty combo in its secondary.

NFL analyst Chris Broussard made a bold proclamation on Fox Sports 1’s “First Things First” when he said that the Dolphins are now the best team in the AFC East, assuming quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is healthy.

Ramsey may have slipped a bit in 2022, as some of his advanced stats took a hit, but he was still very effective as evidenced by his 18 passes defended and four interceptions, which earned him his sixth straight Pro Bowl nod.

Perhaps the biggest asset he will bring to Miami is his experience playing on the 2021 Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams, something which is invaluable, especially for a relatively young squad such as Miami.

Of course, the team’s biggest question is whether Tagovailoa will avoid injury after suffering multiple concussions in 2022, the latest of which had him in concussion protocol for over a month.

When he was healthy, he blossomed, and he made the Dolphins look explosive at times by putting up 3,548 passing yards and 25 touchdown passes while going 8-5 as a starter.

The Bills have failed to reach the AFC Championship Game in each of the last two seasons, but many will still likely consider them the favorites in the division thanks to quarterback Josh Allen and a strong, well-balanced roster.

But there is no question the Dolphins are quickly closing the gap between them and Buffalo.
