With the Kansas City Chiefs’ thrilling win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII on Sunday, Travis Kelce has joined an exclusive club of tight ends who have won two world championships.
In fact, analyst Ryan Clark made a bold claim about Kelce’s place in history now.
He said on ESPN’s “First Take” that Kelce is the greatest tight end of all time.

Perhaps the main competition Kelce has in that department is Rob Gronkowski, the tight end who was Tom Brady’s right-hand man for about a decade.
In 11 NFL seasons, Gronkowski had four seasons where he went above the 1,000-yard mark while making the Pro Bowl five times and the All-Pro first-team four times.
Of course, he also collected three Super Bowl rings with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (he sat out the 2016-17 postseason when the Pats won their fifth championship with a back injury).
Kelce has essentially played nine seasons (he played one snap in one game as a rookie), and during that time, he has an active streak of seven consecutive 1,000-yard seasons.
In 144 regular season games, he has amassed 10,344 receiving yards and 69 touchdowns, compared to 9,286 yards and 92 touchdowns in 143 games for Gronkowski.
But in the playoffs, Kelce has 1,548 yards and 16 touchdowns to Gronkowski’s 1,389 yards and 15 touchdowns, despite playing in four fewer contests.
Now that Kelce is the Chiefs’ main offensive weapon due to last offseason’s departure of wide receiver Tyreek Hill, he can only add to his resume and strengthen his argument as perhaps the greatest tight end ever.
