MLB has endured a lot of criticism for not making the game attractive to younger generations.

In the last year or two, there is no doubt they have worked hard to change that.

They have understood that ratings, interactions and, ultimately, profit potential reside in younger generations.

Because of that, they adopted measures to increase pace of play, reduce game time, and make things more exciting with more steals and contact.

They also introduced cool features, such as a patch on rookies’ uniforms.

“Starting today, every player making their debut will wear an ‘MLB Debut’ patch on their jersey for their first game!” FOX Sports MLB tweeted.

Not only it is a cool way to identify those fulfilling their lifelong dream, but the jersey with the patch will also make for a nice piece of memorabilia, or a fond memory for those who wore it.

On Thursday, we will see players such as the New York Yankees’ Anthony Volpe, Boston Red Sox’s Masataka Yoshida, Chicago White Sox’s Oscar Colas and others with the uniform and the patch.

Rookies are always exciting, as they bring a level of talent and energy that their teams often lack.

They ooze talent and potential, and their rookie season is the first part of their journey toward stardom in many cases.

Lots of players have fond memories of their debut seasons.

It might seem like a small detail, but most fans loved the patch and the design is very cool.

As long as the league keeps adding small, but meaningful things and features to captivate fans, baseball will enjoy good health.
