Over the past few years, the Minnesota Vikings have been a perennial playoff team in the NFC, with veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins under center.
Although the Vikings have been a talented football team for quite some time, the team hasn’t been able to get over the hump in the NFL playoffs, as they always tend to fall short in the postseason regardless of their opponent.
Despite a solid season in 2022 that resulted in 13 regular-season wins, there are a lot of questions about where the team goes from here, especially with Cousins having one year left on his contract.
ESPN’s Mina Kimes believes the team Vikings should seriously consider trading up in the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft to land quarterback Anthony Richardson out of the University of Florida.

Although Richardson is not considered to be in the same class as Bryce Young and CJ Stroud, who could go No. 1 and No. 2 in the first round of the draft on April 27, the former Gators star has a lot of talent and may be one of the best athletes in the draft.
The Vikings planning for the future without Cousins under center might be a wise decision, especially in a draft with a talented crop of quarterbacks.
Minnesota could also take a look at Kentucky’s Will Levis or Hendon Hooker out of the University of Tennessee, who are two quarterbacks that will likely be taken in the first round and could be attainable as they could go anywhere from the top 10 to the middle of the first round or lower.
