Matthew Stafford, the quarterback of the Los Angeles Rams, is slated to play in the Rams’ Week 11 matchup against the New Orleans Saints.
After missing last week’s game due to a concussion, it appears that Stafford is good to go.
Injury updates:
— #rams QB Matthew Stafford (concussion) is off the injury report.
— #Chargers WRs Mike Williams and Keenan Allen practiced fully today and Williams told @BridgetCondon_ “I should be out there.”
— #Bears TE Cole Kmet (thigh) is off the report and good to go.— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) November 18, 2022
While the Rams will surely appreciate having their franchise quarterback in the game, they will, unfortunately, be without their top receiving weapon, Cooper Kupp.
Kupp sustained a high-ankle sprain in Week 10 and is slated to miss at least four games, with the potential to miss even more time.
The State Of The Rams
Without Kupp, the Rams will need to turn to a few of the other weapons on their roster.
One of their other weapons is the newly acquired Allen Robinson II.
While Robinson has yet to be called on as an alpha-type player in LA, Stafford may have to turn to the 9-year NFL veteran to come up with some big plays for the foreseeable future.
Besides Robinson, the Rams may turn to young wideout Ben Skowronek.
Skowronek has been targeted 39 times this season, which has materialized into 26 receptions for 245 yards.
Skowronek was a great athlete at Notre Dame and Northwestern, tallying over 1,800 career receiving yards and 14 total touchdowns.
While it’s never wished upon, when star receivers are out due to injury, young players like Skowronek have an incredible opportunity to step-up and showcase their skills.
This can often lead to more playing time in the future and gaining trust and rapport with the first-stringers.
Hopefully, the Rams will be just fine without Kupp, and Stafford continues with a clean bill of health.
