Louis Riddick Reveals What He Would Do With Bears’ #1 Pick

The Chicago Bears have the top pick in the upcoming NFL draft, and they’re facing something of a dilemma.

Do they take one of the potential-laden quarterbacks available with that pick, or do they continue to move forward with Justin Fields under center?

Plenty of people in Chicago aren’t fully sold on Fields as a franchise quarterback, but NFL analyst Louis Riddick told Dan Patrick that he would rather trade the No. 1 pick and improve at other positions than use it on someone like Bryce Young and instead Trade Fields.

Fields is a fantastic running QB, as he tallied 1,143 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns this season.

However, the equation with him is how viable he is throwing the football.

He’s completed just 60.4 percent of his passes this season for an anemic 2,242 yards and 17 touchdowns while also throwing 11 interceptions.

However, there is a school of thought that much of Fields’ struggles in that department have more to do with Chicago’s lackluster wide receivers and deficient offensive line.

They didn’t have a single receiver who surpassed 600 yards, and their offensive line problems resulted in an NFL-high 55 sacks for Fields.

While Young has some dazzling passing skills and a good feel for the game, many wonder if his lack of size will hold him back at the next level.

It will be interesting to see which path the Bears chose to go down, as there is the opportunity for them to either end up with the franchise quarterback they have lacked for many years or make a decision they will regret for a long time.
