Not so long ago, people thought Jake Paul was joking when he pursued a career in boxing.
They called him out, mocked him, and stated that there was no way he could succeed at the sport.
Fast forward to today, and it seems like the YouTuber has really taken it seriously, as he hasn’t stopped and has quite an interesting record thus far, albeit against some questionable rivals.
Paul is scheduled to fight Tommy Fury and put his undefeated record on the line, finally getting to face someone who could actually put him on his butt.
Obviously, he wants to be taken seriously in this sport once and for all, and he recently went as far as to state that he’s going to be a world champion:
“I’m going to be a world champion,” Paul said on ESPN’s Key Jay & Max.

He claims that he trains with world champions and knows what it takes to go the distance, adding that he’s determined to work as hard as it takes to achieve this goal.
Notably, his trainer BJ Flores has also stated that he believes Paul could one day become a world champion, regardless of how many of us laugh at the sole thought of that.
The 26-year-old social media star has sparred against some world champions, and he hasn’t stopped working on his craft to try and become a serious boxer.
Now, he’s reportedly even looking forward to facing Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. at some point in the near future.
Crazy as it may seem, WBC officials recently stated that Paul could actually be ranked with a win against Fury, which would leave the door open for a potential title fight.
