The New York Giants are gearing up for the playoffs.

That is a statement not many would have thought possible in Brian Daboll’s first year as head coach.

But, here we are, the Giants are heading to Minnesota to face the Vikings.

Questions have come up because of the lack of playoff experience on New York’s roster, and Daniel Jones is playing the first playoff game of his young career.

It won’t be easy, but one Giants insider wants to give Jones a chance if he doesn’t play well this weekend.

Jordan Raanan mentions Eli Manning’s first playoff start: He threw for 113 yards with three interceptions and the Giants got shut out.

Then, he bounced back and ended up winning two Super Bowls with the franchise.

Will Jones do that?

Who knows, but Raanan is just saying to give Jones a chance before jumping all over him if the performance doesn’t live up to expectations.

In the Giants’ matchup with the Vikings on Christmas Eve, Jones finished with 334 yards, one score, and one interception while rushing for 34 yards on four careers in a close 27-24 loss on the road.

Jones played well last time, although the playoffs are a much different atmosphere and ballgame than any other week.

The Vikings have a tough offense and defense, so Jones and the Giants will have their hands full, but there is a shot.

So far this season, Jones has exceeded expectations and let’s see if he can buck the lack of playoff experience.
