The New York Yankees have been off to a good start this season.

Unfortunately, they still have a way to go before they catch the Tampa Bay Rays at the top of the American League East.

They are tied in second place with the Toronto Blue Jays with a 10-6 record and sit four games behind the Rays.

However, one Yankee in particular is off to a very solid start.

Right-hander Gerrit Cole has yet to lose a game through his first four starts.

He has won each of his first four games and has posted a 0.95 ERA.

On Twitter, MLB Network posted some of Cole’s early-season stats.

Cole has also worked 28.1 innings.

He has allowed just 13 hits and has already struck out 32 batters.

Needless to say, Cole is off to a hot start in 2023 and is getting the job done for the Yankees.

Last season, the veteran right-hander won 13 games in 33 starts and posted an ERA of 3.50.

The 32-year-old is now in his fourth season with the Yankees after signing with the team before the 2020 season.

And Cole’s hot start has been a major key for the Yankees, who are currently without Frankie Montas, Carlos Rodon, and Luis Severino.

On Sunday, he had one of his better performances, pitching a two-hit shutout over the Minnesota Twins and striking out 10 batters to help the Yankees secure a series split.

The Bronx Bombers will open up a three-game series at home against Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Angels as they look to gain ground in the AL East.
