Former NFL Star Isn’t Convinced About Tom Brady’s New Career

For two decades, Tom Brady set the standard for what it meant to be a successful NFL quarterback.

Brady was a relentless competitor and a guy who was never going to be denied.

He wasn’t the most athletic by any means, and one may argue he wasn’t even the most talented, but he’s the winningest and biggest record-holder.

So, now that he’s looking forward to pursuing a new career path, it seems like he might have to start over.

Brady will have to earn his stripes again, and prove to the world that he can be as good as an analyst as he was as a football player.

Notably, he’ll have to start with one of his colleagues.

Recently, CBS Sports analyst and former QB Phil Simms showed his skepticism about Brady’s future in the booth.

He claims he just can’t picture him calling games because it might not even be worth it to him, adding that FOX will also need to consider what to do with Greg Olsen after he did such a good job in 2022:

“I’ve got to see it – or hear it – to believe it. I don’t know. I just can’t picture Tom Brady up there announcing games,” Simms said. “You know why? He’s Tom Brady. He’s just bigger than life…In this day and age, is it worth it for him?”

No one, not even the most optimistic New England Patriots fan, ever thought Brady would go on to have such a legendary career.

He was the 199th overall pick and had to spend his entire career shutting down the doubters and critics one by one until there were almost none left.

Brady claimed that he was going to take a year off to learn the ropes of the broadcast world and get ready to prove himself in the next chapter of his career.

If he takes the same restless approach he took during his playing days, there’s no reason to think he won’t be a standard-setter in that business as well.
