The Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs are set to meet in the Super Bowl this weekend, and it could be an outstanding matchup, as it features an excellent all-around team in the Eagles and arguably the best quarterback in the NFL in Patrick Mahomes.

Joe Banner, the former team president of the Eagles, believes both teams are set up for the long haul and that they could meet again for the world championship.

Philly finished with the best record in the league this year at 14-3, and it finished third in points scored, third in total yards gained, second in total yards given up and first in rushing touchdowns scored and passing yards allowed.

Quarterback Jalen Hurts may not be the best passing threat in the league, but he is one of the premier dual-threat signal-callers around, and he has recorded 760 yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground in the regular season.

He forms a fearsome one-two punch with running back Miles Sanders, who had 1,269 yards and 11 touchdowns this year, and wide receivers AJ Brown and Devonta Smith both topped the 1,100-yard mark.

On the other side, Mahomes continues to be a magician who causes headaches for opposing teams.

Despite a sprained ankle, he came through with big plays when he needed to in the AFC Championship Game versus the Cincinnati Bengals, allowing Kansas City to avenge last year’s conference title game loss with a three-point victory.

The relative youth of the key players on both teams means Banner’s prediction could come true.

It should be pointed out that it is very rare for a team to reach the Super Bowl more than once within a few years, although the Chiefs have made it there for the third time in four years, while Philly last made it to the Super Bowl just five years ago.
