Former Los Angeles Dodgers star Yasiel Puig has been in some hot water recently.
Back in November, news broke of Puig pleading guilty to several charges of placing illegal sports bets.
However, his agent told a different story, contending that the former slugger was struggling with his mental health at the time and that the charges were false.
Tomorrow in Los Angeles, Puig and renowned civil rights attorney Ben Crump will address the federal charges levied against the former All-Star.
Jon Heyman provided the news of the recent development with Puig on Twitter, while also giving certain details about the situation and what took place.

As Heyman notes, both Crump and Puig have dismissed the charges as “erroneous.”

The former All-Star played the vast majority of his career with the Dodgers, reaching the big leagues in 2013 and remaining with the team until after the 2018 season, when he was traded to the Cincinnati Reds.
At the 2019 trade deadline, Puig was sent to the Cleveland Indians in exchange for Trevor Bauer.
The 32-year-old is represented by Luba Sports, which is also the agency that represents Bauer.
After the 2019 season, Puig went abroad to continue his career.
He owns a career batting average of .277, 132 total home runs, 441 runs scored, 79 stolen bases, and OPS of .823.
The former All-Star’s best season came in 2019 with the Reds and Indians.
The veteran outfielder hit .297 with 24 home runs, 84 RBI, 254 total bases, and an OPS of .785
