Patrick Beverley’s hours are numbered in Orlando. As reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPNthe veteran base and the Florida organization are negotiating a buyout that would make the player a free agent; that is to say, he could close an agreement with any team that was willing to hire him for the remainder of the season.
That the Magic have no interest in keeping Beverley makes sense. The South American team is focused on developing its young players, so having a veteran who is prepared to lend a hand to a contender makes little sense.
Regarding what the player’s fate will be, no details are known for now. Beverley has only used social media to show his appreciation to the Lakers for his time there.
Let’s remember that for Beverley to reach the Magic (who did it along with a second round of the draft), they sent Mo Bamba to the Lakers. The movement does not revert too much at the sporting level in Orlando, but it does economically, since the center had another season remaining at a rate of 10 million dollars, while the guard is expiring; that is, they will release that money from the salary limit at the end of the course.
