Everybody around the New York Jets assumes that Aaron Rodgers will play for them next season, while the Green Bay Packers brass is all but certain he won’t be coming back.

However, the days continue to go by, and there’s still no sign of the four-time MVP in the Big Apple.

Moreover, according to NFL insider Adam Schefter via Dov Kleiman, both sides haven’t even communicated about the trade in the past couple of weeks.

Rodgers announced his ‘intention’ to play for the Jets a couple of weeks ago in one of his many appearances on The Pat McAfee Show, and the word around the league was that the Packers didn’t want him to come back, either.

Nonetheless, Schefter reports that both franchises have reached a bit of a stalemate and that there’s nothing going on right now.

Needless to say, the clock is ticking, and with both teams’ off-season programs just around the corner, this could start to become a problem at some point:

“Amazingly if the two sides can’t figure out a deal by the time the draft comes… Aaron Rodgers will then have a decision to make rather or not to show up to the Packers mandatory minicamp in May,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.

Again, the expectation is that the deal will go through eventually, but it doesn’t seem like anything’s going to happen any time soon, at least before the upcoming NFL Draft, but fans are starting to lose their patience.

The Jets have made it clear that they have no intention whatsoever of giving up the 13th overall pick in this year’s draft, but the Packers might be playing the waiting game to try and see if they cave.

Whatever the case, it’s hard to envision what’s holding this trade up, and it’s just a matter of time before the wheels get in motion.
